He ended the call with a sigh and got busy with the preparations. The day passed quickly—he stepped out for some errands, managed a few tasks, and returned home just before sunset.
It was evening now. The lights around the house twinkled, soft music played in the background, and the guests were all dressed up, waiting. Everything was ready—except two people were missing.
Lia and Taehyung’s mother.
Taehyung (looking around, annoyed): “Y/n, can you please go check? Why aren’t Mom and Lia downstairs yet?”
Y/n: “Yeah, sure. I’ll see what’s going on.”
Y/n headed upstairs. As she reached near Taehyung’s room, she was just about to call out when she heard faint voices from inside the room next door. She slowed down instinctively and leaned slightly closer.
T.M (Taehyung’s Mother): “Lia, you remember everything, don’t you? What we planned?”
Lia (quietly but confidently): “Yes, Aunty. Every detail. Don’t worry—our plan can’t fail.”
T.M (coldly): “It better not. I want control over everything—this house, this name, this family. Everything should be mine, and mine alone.”
Y/n froze.
What plan? What are they talking about? Her heartbeat quickened. She knew something was very wrong.
Y/n (thinking): I need to find out what they’re up to…
Gathering herself, she gently knocked on the door.
A moment later, the door opened. Taehyung’s mother stood there, eyes sharp and voice colder than ever.
T.M: “Hmm… What are you doing here?
Y/n (politely): “Oh Aunty, I just came upstairs to tell you—Taehyung is calling you downstairs. The guests are about to arrive, that’s all.”
T.M (smiling faintly): “Oh, I see… alright then, let’s go.”
They began walking toward the staircase. Everything seemed normal.
But as they reached the stairs…
Lia (thinking to herself): If I push Taehyung’s mother down the stairs, she’ll blame Y/n anyway. And besides, Aunty already has a plan in mind. Perfect timing.
Lia looked around. No one was watching.
Then, in a swift and heartless move—she pushed Taehyung’s stepmother from behind.
Lia (muttering under her breath): “Down you go, old woman.”
Y/n (shocked): “AUNTYYYYY!”
Everyone turned in horror as they saw Taehyung’s mother falling down the stairs. Thankfully, she didn’t fall all the way. She tumbled just halfway before Taehyung rushed in and caught her
But the damage was done—her ankle twisted badly.
Taehyung (panicked): “Mom! What happened? How did you fall? Are you hurt?”
T.M (holding her ankle): “My leg… I think I sprained it. Maybe even fractured. It hurts so much…”
Taehyung: “But how did this even happen?”
T.M (thinking to herself): This is my
chance. I didn’t see who pushed me, but
why not blame Y/n? Maybe it really was
her. Either way, it works for me.
Taehyung: “Jungkook, call the doctor
Mom, please—just tell me the truth.”
T.M (dramatically): “It was Y/n… she pushed me. I don’t know why she would do that. I never harmed her…”
Y/n (shocked and hurt): “What?! I didn’t do anything! How can you lie like that?”
Taehyung (confused and tense): “I… I’ll be right back. I need to check.”
The doctor soon arrived, examined her injury, and confirmed a severe sprain. They took her to her room and applied a plaster cast.
Later, as Taehyung sat beside her, still worried, she looked at him seriously.
T.M (softly): “Taehyung, I know this hurts you. But if Y/n becomes a part of this family, it won’t be good. She hurt me today… tomorrow, she might hurt you.”
Taehyung: “Mom… what are you trying to say?”
T.M: “I’m saying—marry Lia. Do the engagement with her tonight. She’s right for you.”
Taehyung (tears forming): “What… what are you saying, Mom? I… I can stop the engagement if you want, but this…”
T.M (pretending to cry): “Can’t you do this much for your mother? Jungkook is here to take care of me. We can’t send the guests away—it will ruin our reputation.”
Taehyung (breaking): “Don’t cry, Mom… I’ll do whatever you ask.”
Downstairs, the guests had started arriving. The host was on stage, making announcements.
Host: “And now, it’s time for the one who’s won our groom’s heart to step forward… the girl he’ll be engaged to today.”
Taehyung (interrupting): “Wait… I’ll call her myself.”
Host: “Of course, please do.”
Taehyung took a deep breath, eyes scanning the crowd. Then, he called out the name…
Taehyung: “Lia.”
The room fell silent. Lia looked shocked.
And Y/n… she stood there, frozen. Her heart shattered.
He didn’t even ask me… didn’t even hear my side… and yet… he chose her.
Y/n : You broke my heart, Taehyung. I loved you… and all I got in return…is this”
The engagement ceremony had begun. Lia stepped onto the stage with a bright smile. First, she gently slid the ring onto Taehyung’s finger. Then, it was his turn.
Taehyung took the ring and, as he moved to place it on Lia’s finger, his eyes unintentionally locked with Y/n’s.
Taehyung (thinking): I’m doing what feels right… then why does it feel so wrong?
Y/n forced a small, sad smile as she watched the moment that should’ve been hers. Her heart broke silently. Unable to bear the sight of the man she loved promising himself to someone else, she turned around, her back now facing the stage.
From the corner, Jimin stood watching it all—his lips curved into a sly, knowing smile.
Sia - y/n don’t be sad. Taehyung doesn’t deserve you.”
Pihu / Sadia: “Exactly. He only knows how to follow his mother’s orders. He never tried to understand you.”
Y/n: “Hmm… thank you for comforting me. Really.”
On the other side of the hall, Jimin leaned against a pillar, lost in thought.
Jimin (to himself): V didn’t even have to do anything… this family has enough drama on its own. Works out perfectly. Poor Y/n, though. Sorry sis, but all this was —for your own
Host : “Now that the engagement is complete, how about we celebrate with some dancing?”
Suddenly, all the lights went off. For a moment, the hall dipped into darkness. Then, spotlights flickered back on, one by one, across the dance floor. Guests began dancing under the dim, romantic glow.
Taehyung and Lia danced together, smiling for the guest
Just then, the main door of the hall creaked open.
Someone entered… someone unexpected. But because the lights were low, no one noticed his arrival.
Y/n: huh “Great… they turned the lights off so people can dance now.”
V : “Why don’t you dance with me, sweetheart?”
Before she could react, V grabbed her hand and pulled her gently toward him. The moment the spotlight fell on them, Y/n’s eyes widened in complete shock.
Y/n: “You?!”
V (smirking): “Yes, me. Missed me, sweetheart? Oh wait—you didn’t even see me that day. Right after I saved you, I left for Russia.”
Y/n (confused): “Wait… then who’s that?”
She turned to glance at Taehyung—who was still dancing with Lia, smiling at the crowd.
V (calmly): “He’s him… and I’m me. We’re not the same.”
Her head was spinning. But then she noticed something—V’s tattoo. The same one she had seen the day he rescued her. The same tattoo she had never seen on Taehyung.
Suddenly, pieces started falling into place. Her heart beat faster, her thoughts racing.
But before she could fully process it
The lights came back on.
And in that exact moment, V leaned in and kissed her infront of everyone.
V (softly): “I missed you so much, sweetheart.”
Author’s POV:
V slowly stepped back after the unexpected kiss, his eyes still fixed on Y/n. The music came to an abrupt stop. Silence filled the hall.
Every single guest had their eyes locked on the two of them—on him and her. Shock rippled through the crowd like a wave.
Taehyung stood frozen for a second before anger began bubbling up inside him. His jaw tightened.
Taehyung (in his mind): How the hell did he get here?
On the other side, V didn’t even flinch. His gaze stayed solely on Y/n, like no one else existed in the room.
And Y/n... she was still standing there, stunned. Her eyes wide, lips slightly parted, as if her brain hadn’t caught up with what had just happened.
Not far from the center of the chaos, Sadia whispered with a dreamy sigh.
Sadia: “Ugh, did you see that, Sia? That was so romantic.”
Sia: “Yeah, I saw. Look at Y/n’s face, though… she’s in total shock!”
Meanwhile, Jimin couldn’t stop laughing under his breath. Everything was playing out like a drama he secretly enjoyed. And just then, Jungkook stepped out of the room where he had been taking care of Taehyung’s stepmother. As his eyes landed on V and Y/n, even he froze for a second.
But then, he smiled quietly to himself.
Jungkook (thinking): So… you finally came. I knew you would. You’ve never done anything wrong, and now the real game begins.
Taehyung’s fists clenched as he stormed forward.
Taehyung (angrily): “What are you doing here?”
V : “Nothing much. Just came to take my bride.”
Everyone gasped.
Y/n shook her head and turned away, not wanting to hear more of their dramatic exchange. She took a few steps, trying to escape from the overwhelming scene.
But Taehyung reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Taehyung: “Where are you going?”
Y/n looked at him, her eyes glistening. The sight of him still affected her—but she held her tears back.
Y/n: “Why do you care? Go back… continue your engagement.”
She pulled her hand from his grasp and turned to walk away.
Before she could take another step, V was already behind her. Without warning, he scooped her up bridal style in front of everyone and confidently began walking toward the door.
Y/n : “Put me down! Let me go, you devil!”
V : “Nope. And where do you think you’re going without me, sweetheart?”
Y/n: “I said let me go, or I’ll scream!”
V (grinning): “Not in this lifetime, sweetheart. Forget about dreaming that.”
Y/n was shocked now—his tone, his eyes, his smile—everything was messing with her mind. And without thinking, she smacked him on the butt.
Realizing what she’d done, her eyes widened.
Y/n (in her mind): What the hell did I just do?!
Before she could fully recover, V smacked her butt back, leaning in with a playful smirk.
V: “In such a hurry to hit me? Save that for the bedroom. But hey—I got my revenge.”
He winked.
Y/n: “Ugh! Shut up, you shameless man!”
V- and why should I (he said while smirking)
Back at Taehyung’s house...
Sia (angrily): “I’m leaving. But Taehyung, always remember—you did wrong with my friend. And trust me, karma won’t spare you.”
Pihu/Sadia: “Yeah, if you really loved her, you would've trusted her. But clearly, you didn’t. We don’t think you ever truly loved her. Anyway, we’re going now—our mood is completely ruined.”
Jimin (calmly): “I’m leaving too. The drama’s over… exactly the way it was meant to end.”
He muttered that last part under his breath and walked out.
And just like that, the hall that was once filled with lights, laughter, and the buzz of celebration, now stood awkwardly quiet—tainted by the chaos of choices, betrayal, and truth… finally revealed.
Author’s POV
Bringing the focus back to Y/n and V—
V firmly led Y/n toward his car and, without giving her a chance to resist, made her sit inside. Then, walking around, he got into the driver’s seat.
Y/n: “Yah! You… aish, shibal! Where are you taking me? I’m leaving right now! You can’t just drag me somewhere against my will!”
When Y/n reached for the car door to get out, V quickly stopped her. In an instant, he leaned closer, making her breath hitch for a few seconds. Her heart pounded, and without realizing it, she closed her eyes tightly… only for V to smirk. He was simply fastening her seatbelt.
Once done, he moved back to his seat, settling in comfortably.
She slowly opened her eyes, letting out a relieved breath upon seeing that V was no longer so close.
V: “What did you think was going to happen?” he teased, his tone dripping with mischief.
Y/n: “Shut up, you… ugh!”
Without warning, she stomped on his foot with her pointed sandal.
V: “Ahhh! What the hell?! That hurt! Who even attacks with such a sharp sandal?!”
Y/n: “Stay away from me… or next time, it’ll be even sharper,” she said with a sly smirk.
V: “For you, I can bear any pain. Go ahead, try me.”
Her cheeks warmed instantly at his bold words, and she quickly turned to stare out of the window, pretending to ignore him. Meanwhile, V started the car, a faint smile still playing on his lips.
After a while, the car finally rolled to a stop in front of Y/n’s building.
V stepped out first, the cool evening breeze brushing past him, and walked around to her side. Without saying a word, he reached for the door handle and pulled it open.
Y/n: “Don’t you dare try to pick me up again! I can walk on my own.”
V: [with a teasing smirk] “Alright, alright, madam… please, step out and make your way to your apartment.”
Y/n: “Wait a second… I never even gave you my address. How did you end up here?”
V: “Didn’t I already tell you? I have my ways.”
Y/n: “Ughh… there’s no point talking to you, you never explain anything properly.”
She stepped out and began walking toward the entrance of her building, trying not to look back at him.
V: “Sweetheart, wait.”
Before she could even react, he closed the distance between them. His hand rested lightly on her arm as he leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. The warmth of the touch made Y/n freeze on the spot, her eyes widening in shock.
V: “Bye-bye. Now you can go.”
Y/n: “Huh? W–what was that?!”
V: “Go… or else next time, I’ll do it on your lips.”
Her heart skipped a beat, but before he could say anything more, she quickly darted away toward the entrance, half embarrassed, half panicking that he might actually keep his word.
That night, after leaving Taehyung’s house, Kia, Pihu, and Sia all went home. By the time morning sunlight streamed through Y/n’s window, the three of them were at her apartment, knocking softly before entering her room.
Pihu: “Y/n, are you okay?”
Y/n: “Yeah, I’m fine. What could possibly happen to me?”
Sia: “We’re not talking about that… we’re asking about what happened last night.”
Y/n: [looking away] “Oh, just forget it. Come on, let’s go to the mall instead.”
---
Meanwhile, in V’s mansion—
V: [on the phone] “Hello, Jimin? Come over quickly. I want to go to the mall, and you’re coming with me. It’s been ages since I felt like doing something fun.”
Jimin: “Alright, I’ll come. I guess after what happened last night, you must be in a very good mood.”.
Some time later
Jimin arrived at V’s mansion, stepping inside without much formality.
V: “Oh, you’re finally here, Jimin.”
Jimin: “Well, you can see me standing right here, so yes, I’m here. Look closely.”
V: [rolling his eyes] “Stop your nonsense and come with me.”
Jimin: [grinning] “Alright, alright, let’s go.”
Author’s POV
Without wasting more time, the two headed out toward the mall. Coincidentally, Y/n and her friends had also decided to go there. In truth, Y/n wasn’t even in the mood for shopping — but she didn’t want her friends to feel awkward or upset because of her, so she agreed to tag along.
At the mall
The group strolled past the sparkling glass shopfronts, each store glowing with designer displays.
Sadia: “Y/n, which brand store should we go to first?”
Sia: “Yeah, you decide — Gucci, Celine, or Chanel?”
Y/n: “Oh, just go anywhere, guys. It’s not like you need to ask me for everything.”
Pihu: “Alright then, Chanel first. After that, we can check out the others. What do you all say?”
Sia & Sadia (teasing together): “Whatever you say, boss.”
They entered Chanel, the air inside scented with expensive perfume. Racks of elegant clothes surrounded them. Each of them picked out a few things — clothes, accessories, and perfumes — including Y/n, who quietly selected a couple of items for herself.
Once they paid at the counter, Pihu turned to the others.
Pihu: “So, where to next?”
Y/n: “Let’s go to Gucci.”
Sia: “Are you actually serious?”
Y/n: “No, it’s my ghost speaking. Now are you coming or not?”
Sadia & Pihu: “Of course we’re coming! Let’s go.”
Meanwhile, in Gucci
V and Jimin were already there, trying suits.
Jimin: “V, what do you think of this one? Looks good, right? Should I get it?”
V: “If you like it, what can I say? Take it. Hanging out with me has improved your taste — almost as good as mine.”
Jimin: “Yeah, yeah, enough with the flaunting yourself
Just than, Y/n and her friends walked into Gucci, their chatter mixing with the store’s soft background music.she spotted a sleek handbag and a few elegant dresses she wanted to try.
But the sparkle in her eyes froze the moment she noticed him — V — standing just a short distance away, flipping through a row of suits like he owned the place.
Y/n (to herself): “Oh no… what is he doing here?”
She instinctively turned away, hoping to blend into the crowd, but V’s gaze was sharp — the kind of gaze that missed nothing. He spotted her almost instantly.
Y/n began moving toward the other end of the store, trying to slip away unnoticed, but before she could take more than a few steps
V: “Where are you going, sweetheart? Did you really think hiding from me means I won’t find you?”
Her heart skipped. She slowly turned, startled to see him infront of her suddenly with unreadable expression.
Y/n: “H-how are you here? How did you found out that I'm here
V: [with a smirk] Didn’t I already tell you? I have my ways. No matter where you go, you’ll always end up right here… with me. I’ll find you from everyone
