First Meet
YN'S POV
The whole day passes in a blur. I spend every moment I can with the kids—laughing, talking, and making sure they know how to take care of themselves. It feels like a goodbye, even though I can't bring myself to say it.
Now, I'm standing in my room.
My bags are packed, hands steady, but my heart feels heavy. The official car is on its way.
This isn't just leaving a house. It’s leaving behind a past that never loved me back.
The car pulls up outside. I take a deep breath, grab my luggage, and head downstairs.
Papa is sitting at the table, flipping through a newspaper like I’m not even there. Mummy is in the kitchen, cooking like it’s just another morning.
I bend down to touch Papa’s feet. He pulls them away.
Pain stabs through my chest, but I don’t look up. I already know—there’s no love left to see.
Still, a part of me wants to try. One last time.
I turn to Mummy, hoping. Begging.
But she doesn’t even glance at me.
I swallow the lump in my throat and force myself forward. Each step feels like a battle against the past, against everything I craved but never got.
At the door, I turn back.
The house is just walls and silence now. Memories crash over me—fifteen years ago, it was filled with warmth and laughter. Now, it’s a graveyard of what was.
OFFICER: "Miss, We need to leave...!!
I exhale sharply. Maybe this is the last time I look back. The last time I hope for something that will never come.
I step into the car, leaving the ghosts of yesterday behind.
CAPTAIN'S POV
The day has finally arrived. All the captains know their parents are visiting today. I’m on a call with my mother.
“What are you doing?” her gentle voice asks.
“I’m fine, Mom. Just making sure you’re taking care of yourself,” I say, smiling softly.
She chuckles. “Obviously! I’m the mother of a handsome, dedicated captain. How can I not take care of myself?”
I laugh. “You need to come to the base today. It’s important.”
“Of course, my love. I’ll be there.”
We end the call.
Time skips.
Taehyung’s parents arrive, and he pulls his girlfriend, Raina, close. “Mom, Dad, this is Raina,” he says, shy but happy.
Jimin: (smirks) “Ooooh, so the lovebirds are finally official.”
Captain: “Look at them blushing... Huh...!!
Taehyung: “Yah! Stop it!” face flushed.
Jimin’s parents join in, and the room fills with warmth. But I stand apart, scanning the crowd. My mom isn’t here yet. I check my watch, a frown creeping in.
“Where is she?” I wonder.
Jimin grins mischievously. “Let’s take a picture! New couple first!”
Everyone cheers, teasing the blushing pair as cameras flash. But I can’t relax. The worry lingers.
YN'S POV
The car drives away from my past. My grip tightens on my bag as familiar streets blur away.
A new place. A new chapter. But am I ready?
The car stops at the base. Stepping out, I feel a calmness—not eerie but heavy. The officers take my bags as I look around. The place is packed. Why is it so crowded?
A voice calls, "Dr. YN?"
I turn to see a group of female doctors walking over.
"Hello," I greet them.
One smiles warmly. "This must be new for you. If you need help adjusting, just ask."
I nod, grateful, as they leave.
My eyes catch a tense woman nearby, gripping her purse. The officers are stopping her. She looks strong but distressed. I step closer. "Is there a problem, officer?"
He barely glances at you. "Miss, stay out of this."
I fold my arms. “I’m Dr. YN, assigned to the medical unit. What’s the issue?”
He straightens. “Sorry, Doctor. You can go in.”
I gesture to the woman. “And her?”
He hesitates. “We don’t know her.”
“Call a senior officer or her relative. You can’t stop her without checking,” You insist.
He nods and walks away. The woman smiles, relief in her eyes.
“Are you alright, Aunty?”
She nods. “Thanks, beta.”
The officer returns, apologizing. "She’s the captain’s mother. Please go inside."
She pats your hair gently. "Your parents must be proud."
I smile weakly. “I hope so.”
She walks inside, leaving you with a painful ache. You turn—
—and crash into someone.
CAPTAIN'S POV
I step out to look for Mom but stop when I see her talking to a girl with long hair. I walk closer—
Then an officer stops me. I handle the matter quickly, but when I turn back, Mom is gone.
The girl stands alone, back turned. I walk past her, catching a faint, warm scent. She turns too quickly, stumbles—and I catch her.
YN'S POV
I clutch his uniform, breath hitched. His arms are strong, steady. Our eyes meet—deep brown and searching. The world fades away...!!
His hold is protective, like he caught more than just my fall.
CAPTAIN'S POV
Her eyes are... different. We stay locked in place, time suspended.
YN'S POV
His eyes are deep, kind—eyes that could make anyone smile. For the first time in years, I feel like time has stopped—not because of pain but because of something real.
And neither of us can look away.
Let’s see what destiny has in store next!
