They all hugged each other warmly...

In just one hour, everyone got everything ready. Parents were helping their kids pack — some were emotional, some were trying to stay strong...

Meanwhile, You(YN):

If they had told me earlier that we had to leave, I wouldn’t have unpacked this much stuff... Ugh, it all feels so tiring now. But I have to go… because I have to do this....

Suddenly, someone knocks at your door.

You open it — Jimin is standing there.

Jimin: Hello, Doctor Beautiful...

You smile a little and invite him inside.

Jimin: Feeling scared, aren’t you? I mean, this is your first mission, right??

YN: Yeah… a little bit...

Meanwhile, Captain Jeon is with his mother.

Captain (while packing):

Mumma, where’s my belt? I kept it right here... Mumma, tell me...

Then he hears soft sobs...

He turns around and sees his mother crying...

He quickly goes to her...

Captain: Why are you crying, Mumma?

Captain’s Mom (C/M): I’m just remembering your father. He also left for a big mission like this... but he....

Captain: Shhh… I’ll come back, okay? I’m not like anyone else! I drink banana milkshake every day!!

C/M (lightly hits his shoulder): Shut up...

He chuckles softly.

Then his mom becomes serious.

C/M: Promise me, you’ll return just the way you’re leaving. Every night, I talk to the moon as if I’m speaking to your father. Promise me, you’ll listen to your mumma like a good boy. You’re my Simon, my Kookie...

His eyes begin to tear up...

He hugs her tightly...

Captain: I’ll come back safe and sound, Mumma... you’ll see...

Just then, a staff member walks in...

Staff: Captain Jeon… you’re being called by your hyung captains. And Jimin too...

Captain: Where’s Jimin???

The staff shakes his head, unsure, and walks away...

Captain: I’ll be back, Mumma...

He leaves the room...

At the base...

Captain is walking quickly, looking around...

Captain (loudly): Hey! Does anyone know where Jimin is??

Someone replies, "No idea."

But then another soldier says,

"I saw him going into Doctor YN’s room..."

As soon as Captain hears that, he thinks,

"What is he doing in her room?"

Without wasting a second, he rushes toward your room — and without even knocking, he opens the door and walks in...

There, he sees you and Jimin shaking hands...

The sound of the door opening makes both of you look toward it — and there he is... Captain Jeon...

His eyes instantly go to your hands...

Captain (with a raised eyebrow): Jimin, what are you doing here? I’ve been looking all over for you...

(He keeps glancing at the handshake again and again while talking.)

Without waiting, he grabs Jimin’s arm and pulls him away...

Captain: Sorry, Doctor Sahiba... I came in without knocking. I had to come fetch this little raccoon here...

YN (a bit flustered): Aa...a it’s okay. Bye, Jimin… and bye Ca...Ca...ptain...

His eyes don’t leave yours for even a second.

But when he hears you say "Bye Jimin" with his name and then just “Captain” to him, he feels a little pinch in his heart...

"She said Jimin’s name… but not mine?"

Jimin: We’re leaving, bye bye! See you outside...

They both leave.

You let out a small chuckle and think,

"I thought everyone here would be serious and strict... but looks like they’re all kind of fun. Maybe this experience won’t be so bad after all."

You look at your half-done packing and sigh dramatically.

You glance at the mess around you.

You take a deep breath and mutter to yourself with a sarcastic smile,

"If I don’t hurry up, my senior officer might just kick me straight to the DMZ themselves!"

And with that, you get back to packing...

Departure Time

You stepped out of your tent, adjusting your backpack on your shoulder. The wind from the chopper blades was already picking up, making your hair fly as you walked ahead.

Your eyes suddenly caught someone — a captain standing near the chopper. A girl was with him, fixing the collar of his uniform with gentle hands.

Before you could wonder too much, someone next to you spoke casually.

Jimin (smirking):

“That’s my friend — Captain Taehyung. And the girl is his girlfriend, Raina.”

You glanced at Jimin with a small smile. He had that playful look as if he knew what you were thinking.

You looked back toward Captain Taehyung. The way Raina was fixing his uniform, so close to him, so familiar...

And then, Raina leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

You quickly looked away, forcing a smile and walking toward the chopper without saying a word.

As you climbed in and sat down inside, trying to brush it off, you suddenly heard a voice behind you — clear and playful, cutting through the noise.

Captain (grinning):

“You sure you’re ready for this, Doctor? It’s not too late to fake a fever and stay back.”

You turned to look at him, your face calm.

YN: I’ve handled worse than noisy helicopters, Captain...

He chuckled, leaned a bit closer.

Captain: Good. Because out there… it’s not just noise. It’s war...

(then softer, teasing)

“Stay close. I might need a doctor after all… or maybe just an excuse to see you again.”

Before you could respond, someone shouted from the front —

“All clear! Let’s go!”

Everyone inside the chopper was waving from the open sides, looking down one last time at their families. Smiles were wide, hands waving fast — the kind of goodbye that holds a thousand emotions...

Families on the ground (shouting and hoping):

"Stay safe!"

"Come back soon!"

"We’re proud of you!"

Among them, one voice was softer, almost a whisper in the wind.

Captain Jeon’s Mother (to herself):

"Don’t break your promise, beta..."

The chopper slowly rose higher, the base shrinking below, turning into dots and shadows. The noise of the blades filled the air, but inside, everyone was feeling the weight of the journey ahead.

You sat quietly, not looking down like the others. Instead, your eyes were on the clouds outside the tiny round window — soft, scattered, floating like silk. The sunlight hit them at just the right angle, making the sky look like a painting.

You smiled to yourself. “Beautiful…” you whispered in your mind. A soft kind of peace, right before the unknown.

Just then, a voice cut through the moment.

Random Soldier (excitedly): Let’s play a game! All captains, Dr. YN, and every female officer here — join in!!

Others (cheering lightly):

Okay! Let’s go!!!

Laughter started to spread around as they got ready for the game.

But you...

You were still lost in the clouds. Completely unaware of what was happening around you. A world of cotton skies and silent thoughts wrapped around you.

Someone nudged your shoulder lightly, bringing you back to reality…

Dr. YN, are you in or out??

You blinked, turning slowly to the voice, your soft smile still lingering...
