FAKELOVE OR TRUELOVE ❤️‍🩹 [CHAPTER - 5]

AUTHOR POV

Jimin drove in silence, stopping the car in front of Y/N’s apartment. He turned to speak but paused when he saw V.

V was staring at the unconscious Y/N with a soft, tender look—one Jimin hadn’t seen before.

To snap him out of it, Jimin cleared his throat and smirked.

Jimin (grinning): “I’d only heard that love was in the air… but now I’m pretty sure I’m seeing it everywhere.”

V - shut up Shorty

He chuckled lightly, shaking his head
Then he said to v to take y/n in her apartment.

V carried Y/N upstairs in his arms, his expression unreadable yet determined. He already knew everything about her—every detail Mr. Lee had uncovered when V had asked for information. From her habits to her closest people, V had studied them all.

At least Mr. Lee managed to do one thing right, he thought to himself with a smirk.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

V (on call): “Hello, this is V speaking.”

Sia (playfully): “Then I guess this is W speaking. Go on.”

V (sighing in frustration): “Ugh… I’m calling to tell you that your friend Y/N fainted on the road. I brought her back to her apartment. Please come quickly.”

Sia (worried): “Alright, Mr. V, please stay right there. I’m coming,” she replied, her voice laced with concern.

V looked at Y/N, lying unconscious but peaceful. He lowered his voice, speaking more to her than to anyone else.

V (softly): “Come fast, my baby… don’t wake up yet. Everything could go wrong if you see me now.”

Soon, Sia arrived, slightly breathless from rushing.

Sia: “Mr. V, is Y/N okay? Please tell me she’s alright. Nothing happened to her, right?”

V: “She’s fine,” he replied calmly. (And I won’t let anything happen to her either, he thought.)

Sia: “Please, bring her inside. This is her apartment.”

V stepped inside and gently laid Y/N down on her bed, adjusting the pillow under her head with care.

V: “I should go now. I have to be somewhere.”

Sia: “Thank you so much. You saved my friend… I’m really grateful.”

V: “Ah, it was nothing. It’s just something I had to do. We should all help others whenever we can.”

As Sia went to the kitchen to fetch some water, V turned back toward Y/N. He walked over silently, crouched down beside her, and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

V (whispering): “We’ll meet again soon, sweetheart. I’m leaving for now… but wait for my big surprise.”

Then, without hesitation, he brushed a kiss across her lips and stood up.

Sia returned just as he was about to leave.

Sia: “Once again, thank you for saving her.”

V (with a smirk): “Oh, it’s nothing. That’s just what I do… and more. Okay, I’m heading out.”

He exited the apartment, descended the stairs, and slid into the passenger seat of a waiting car.

V: “Let’s go, Jimin. We’ve got more work to do. Straight to the secret place—you know where it is.”

Jimin (grinning): “Obviously. If I don’t know, who else would? I’ve been handling everything here while you were away.”

V: “Good. Now it’s time I remind some people of their true place.”

As Jimin focused on the road ahead, the car moved smoothly through the dimly lit streets. Yet, his mind was far from calm. He seemed to be deep in thought, processing something heavier than just the night’s silence. Every now and then, he would glance at V sitting next to him, who was just as quiet — but in a different way. His eyes were fixed on the road, yet his thoughts were clearly far away.

After what felt like a long and tense drive, they finally reached the base. The large iron gates opened slowly, revealing the stronghold that once echoed with power, command, and loyalty. The place hadn’t changed much, but it felt different. Something was off — like a shadow had been cast over it.

Jimin: “Come on… don’t you want to check out your place? See how much it missed you?”

V: (with a small smirk) “Of course. I need to see for myself what’s been going on while I was away.”

As they entered the base together, V walked with a quiet but commanding presence. The atmosphere shifted instantly. Conversations halted. Movements froze. The energy in the room dropped to silence, like the air itself had changed. Every man in the room stopped and turned to him, eyes wide, and then one by one, they bowed — not out of fear, but deep respect.

V: (looking around) “The place has changed… but not my men. I know them — loyal, honest, and ready to die for the cause. They haven’t forgotten who they serve.”

Jimin: “That’s true. They’ve been holding everything together. But now, you need to know the full story. A lot happened while you were gone.”

V: (his tone sharpening) “Alright. Call Mark. I want details — every single one.”

Without hesitation, Jimin nodded and gave the signal. Mark, one of V’s most trusted men, arrived within seconds. He walked with purpose and respect, stopping in front of V and bowing his head.

Mark: “King, you called me?”

V: “Yes. I need to know everything. What’s been happening here? And who’s been stirring up trouble in the underworld?”

Mark: “King… after you left, Boss Jimin took full charge. He managed everything well. But a new mafia figure arrived… someone bold and reckless.”

V: “Who is he?”

Mark: “His name is Jack. He started interfering with our operations. He’s tampered with our weapon shipments and bombed two of our trucks loaded with supplies.”

V: (narrowing his eyes) “Hmm. Go on.”

Mark: “He also insulted us publicly. At a gathering of mafia families, he said — ‘Tell your King to come out of hiding if he’s not afraid. I think he’s run off like a rat to his hole.’ He’s challenged our reputation again and again.”

Jimin: “I hadn’t told you before, but… he even came to me directly. He looked me in the eye and said, ‘Bring that rat out of his hole, if he’s brave enough.’ It wasn’t just a threat. It was a direct insult to you.”

Mark: “And there’s more, King. He’s involved in human trafficking. Ever since he arrived, it’s been happening more frequently — something that never existed under your rule.”

For a moment, there was dead silence. V stood still, his expression unreadable. And then suddenly — he exploded.

V: (furiously)All this happened… and no one told me?!”

His voice echoed through the hall like a roar. The walls themselves seemed to shudder with the intensity of his anger. Everyone stood frozen.

Jimin: “V, calm down. We didn’t want to disturb you—”

V: “You should have! How could you not tell me?! While I was away, someone dared to poison my territory with human trafficking? That filth had the audacity to crawl into my kingdom and spread his rot?!”

He turned sharply and stormed toward the exit, his footsteps heavy, echoing through the corridors. His anger was no longer just fury — it was personal.

V: (under his breath, with a dangerous smirk) “Now I’ll show him why they call me the King.”
